More about Building Social Studies Literacies at the Museum

To be literate in social studies is not just about having the ability to read and write or developing subject area content knowledge. Literacies take on many forms and shapes across disciplines. Literacy examples include reading objects, maps, and interpreting graphs and images. Museum-based and other resources can help your students build these different literacies and enhance classroom learning.
