Dr. Blair's research focuses on examining how learning happens in informal, out-of-classroom settings like museums, to better understand impacts and improve methods. She works with the museum's PreK-12, university, and adult audiences. Her work emphasizes access (physical, intellectual, and social/cultural) in informal learning environments.

In her teaching, she strives to blend content, pedagogical approaches, and learning tools to create a classroom atmosphere in which students are actively engaged, not only in constructing knowledge, but also in developing themselves as professionals who learn and teach creatively and critically. She teaches courses about teaching methodologies and professional development for the Department of Teacher Education.
