Greya

Many gule wamkulu characters advocate good behavior by demonstrating bad. Greya is an exception. This character depicts the ideal husband, the man who is hard working, committed to his marriage, and to living productively within the matrilineal system that largely deprives him of authority in his wife’s village. The name stems from the grey Guinea Fowl feathers worn around the neck.
