Volunteer Recruitment Open House

OPEN HOUSE set for Wednesday, April 9, from 3-9 p.m.

East Lansing Public Library
950 Abbott Road, at Library Lane (south of U.S. Post Office)

The drop-in open house will provide first-time volunteers an opportunity to meet the GLFF festival planners and learn about the more than 400 volunteer positions available and special volunteer perks. (Like one-of-a-kind t-shirts, private festival parties, green room access and more!) Volunteers are needed to fill two- and four-hour shifts in a variety of areas, including staffing information booths, children's areas, bucket brigades, and site set-up and tear-down. The East Lansing Public Library is located just south of the East Lansing Post Office on Abbott Road.

The Great Lakes Folk Festival, set for Aug. 8-10 in downtown East Lansing, is a celebration of the nation's rich heritage through music, dance and culture.  Special features of the festival include multiple music and dance stages, a Taste of Traditions Food Court, Children's Folk Activities Area, and a Michigan Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Area with living arts demonstrations.   The event is produced by the MSU Museum, with major support provided by the City of East Lansing, Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and Michigan State University.
