Conrad House (Navajo/Oneida) of St. Michaels, Arizona, situated an appliuqed horse in the center of a pieced Navajo rug design for his Horse Chief's Blanket Quilt. Though House does not quilt his textile pieces, his work is influenced by the colors used by Amish quilters and his childhood memories of the patchwork quilts made by his family.
