The Michigan Traditional Arts Program of the Michigan State University Museum announces honorees in two programs celebrating cultural heritage in the state: the 2016 Michigan Heritage Awards (MHA), and the 2016 Michigan Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Program (MTAAP) recipients.

Our hearts are heavy with this news. The MSU Museum lost a great leader and friend in Dr. Gordon Guyer, who had been an active member of the museum's Development Council through the years. Most recently, he contributed to our "Echoes of Silent Spring" exhibition and was recognized for his enormous contribution to the understanding of the natural environment of Michigan, and the growth of MSU as a leading research center in environmental sciences and agriculture.

A free festival for lifelong learners of all ages! Come for the Learning, Stay for the Fun! The fourth annual MSU Science Festival will be April 12-24, 2016, and includes a series of events that highlight science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM).

The MSU Museum will be closed during the Easter weekend, Saturday, March 26 - Sunday, March 27. Regular hours resume on Monday, March 28 at 9 a.m.
