The MSU Museum will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 24 – Sunday, Nov. 27. Regular hours resume on Monday, Nov. 28 at 9 a.m.

Spartan Agate is made from the thick layers of paint applied over many decades to “The Rock” on the campus of Michigan State University. A few years ago, a slab of paint fell off the rock, and an authorized jeweler developed a technique to preserve the layers of paint into a man-made “gem.” The supply is limited and each piece is unique and comes with a certificate of authenticity from the artist.

On Dec. 1, Michigan State University Museum joins thousands of individuals and educational, health, and cultural organizations around the world to mark World AIDS Day. In observance of the day, the MSU Museum will display two NAMES Project AIDS Memorial Quilt blocks.
