    The MSU Museum is recruiting docents to help visitors get the most out of their visits.  Docents greet groups, conduct tours, and lead educational activities that add to the visitor experience and increase awareness of collections and exhibitions.

    MSU Museum exhibit exploring fashion, identity, and history has been extended through Nov. 23, 2016   “Up Cloche: Fashion, Feminism, Modernity” features apparel and textile design collections with the iconic bell-shaped hat (the cloche) as the centerpiece.

    The MSU Museum will be closed during the Labor Day holiday weekend, Friday, Sept. 2 at 12 noon - Monday, Sept. 5. Regular hours resume on Tuesday, Sept. 6 at 9 a.m.

    The stage is set! GREAT LAKES FOLK FESTIVAL SET-UP TRANSFORMS EAST LANSING  Tents, chairs, sound systems, stages, banners and booths are being installed today in preparation for the Great Lakes Folk Festival, a three-day celebration of culture, tradition and community produced by the Michigan State University Museum Aug. 12-14 in downtown East Lansing.

    Festival facts: travel, transportation and what to bring! East Lansing streets will be blocked off for the weekend of the Great Lakes Folk Festival.  Bring chairs, and some water and then be ready to soak up 21 hours of programming in music, dance, arts, and culture!

    The MSU Federal Credit Union is a tremendous long-standing community partner supporting education and shared experiences, and nowhere is that more true than at the MSU Museum this coming year.  Thanks to a generous $40,000 gift from MSUFCU, the science and culture museum at Michigan State University will present a series of exhibitions, educational programs and events in 2016-2017.

    SEAL – Tots Preschool Program for 2-to 5-year-olds Successfully Engaging All Learners (SEAL) - Tots provides resources to encourage thinking and creating for youngster ages 2-5. Through play, music, and movement young visitors, along with their parents, teachers and caregivers, can explore the museum environment.
