Virtual Outreach Program
Take a Virtual Field Trip to the MSU Museum
Real People, Real Ideas - Real Cool!
What We Offer
The Virtual Outreach Program at the Michigan State University Museum offers exciting virtual field trips for your students. These programs allow teachers to provide fun and meaningful learning experiences without the expense, permission forms, and geographic limitations of ordinary field trips.
Using videoconferencing technology, museum educators and objects come to you in the classroom or conference room. Students, teachers, and presenters can all see and hear each other via the video and voice connections. Everything happens in real time, so it's almost like being there!
MSU Museum's field trips are conducted by museum educators and MSU students trained in presenting content to students with a range of educational needs. Most programs last 40-60 minutes including time for questions.
We provide field trips in the science and cultural curriculum areas. Our trips have been designed around the Michigan Content Expectations, so they are easy to incorporate into existing units of study. Programs are targeted to specific grade levels.
