Inspired by "MASK: Secrets and Revelations," the current exhibit at the MSU Museum, students will create original art, and learn what goes on behind the scenes in creating exhibits and caring for collections with art educators, and museum curators.

At the end of the workshop, participants will create an exhibition of their own artwork and tour friends and family through the museum. As a collaboration between the MSU Museum and REACH Studio Art Center, a non-profit neighborhood art studio in the REO Town District of Lansing, Mich., artist Alice Brinkman will lead the mask-making workshop. Brinkman has a particular interest in puppets and masks because of their ability to integrate different art disciplines as well as providing a great vehicle for self-expression. She has taught several classes and projects in puppet and mask making with all ages over the last 20 years.

Program size is limited.
