Developing programs and caring for and using the collections of the Michigan Stained Glass Census all demand substantial underwriting. While Michigan State University provides the basic space and utilities for our collections and activities, the majority of the additional costs must be raised through grants and donations.
Special annual support is also provided through the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the Michigan Stained Glass Census Endowment, and the generous contributions of individuals and groups. But as we continue to grow and develop our program, additional special funding will be necessary.
This activity is part of the Michigan Traditional Arts Program (MTAP) at the Michigan State University Museum which promotes awareness, appreciation, and support for Michigan's traditional cultural resources through research, education, and public service. Operational support for MTAP is provided in part by Michigan State University, the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, and the Michigan State University Extension.
Michigan State University Museum is a 501(c)3 organization and contributions to the Michigan Stained Glass Census qualify for tax-deductible charitable contributions as well as recognition in Michigan State University's gift honoraries. MSU employees may contribute directly through payroll-deduction programs and through the MSU Capital Campaign program. Contributions may also be eligible for some employee corporate matching-gift programs. Individuals and groups interested in supporting the activities of the Michigan Stained Glass Census can find out more by contacting Tim Soule, MSU Museum Development Officer @ 517-432-0859; email: souleti@msu.edu
