Michigan Stained Glass Census

The Thanksgiving Window in the Brueckner Museum at Starr Commonwealth records early events in American history. Reading up from the bottom, the window depicts the arrival of the "Mayflower" and landing of the Pilgrims in 1620; Pilgrims and Indians having the first Thanksgiving in the new world; the Battle of Lexington in 1775; and Washington praying at Valley Forge during the winter of 1777-1778.

Built in the 1950s, the Brueckner Museum is part of the Starr Commonwealth home for boys founded by Floyd Starr in 1913. The Thanksgiving Window was created by the Boston studio of Wilbur Herbert Burnham in 1956 as a memorial to Mary Diana Starr and Marshall Horace Starr.
