Technical Consulting Services
The Michigan Traditional Arts Program provides technical assistance to organizations and individuals working with underserved traditional, minority, and ethnic communities in Michigan. Staff members can provide assistance in identifying and contracting consultants for individualized and specialized assistance in such areas as the use of folklife resources in tourism and community development, marketing traditional arts, folklife in education, folk arts and the aging, traveling exhibitions, computer applications of folklife resources, and development of media projects.
With support from Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, short-term technical assistance is provided by phone, mail, email, and, occasionally, on-site visits at no cost to individuals and organizations. In special cases, long-term, extended technical assistance may be possible.
Individuals and organizations seeking assistance are encouraged to contact MTAP staff by phone (517/355-0368), or by mail (Michigan Traditional Arts Program, Michigan State University Museum, Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan 48824-1045).
