Come to the East Lansing Public Library for a discussion of Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer’s Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants. Braiding Sweetgrass was honored as the “Best Essay Collection of the Decade” by Literary Hub, won the 2014 Sigurd F. Olson Nature Writing Award, and was on multiple bestseller lists. This discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Eric Berling, STEAM Educator at ELPL and Carrie Wicker, Museum Educator at the MSU Museum. Recommended for adults. (Teen Book Club is August 5 from 1:00-3:00 PM.) Registration is not required.

Knowing Nature: Stories of the Boreal Forest/ Historias del bosque boreal is a Smithsonian Traveling exhibit that made its national premier at the MSU Museum. The exhibition focuses on the biodiversity and global importance of our northern-most forests through first-person stories, commissioned objects, interactive experiences, and exquisite photography and videography.
