SUMMARY:Documenting Palm Oil in Indonesia
DESCRIPTION:The graduate student producers of 3 short documentaries and sli
 deshows on palm oil production and consumption in Jambi Indonesia will dis
 cuss their research and representation of palm oil pitfalls. The 3 videos 
 and slideshows are multimedia projects produced collaboratively by graduat
 e students at Michigan State University and at the National Islamic Univer
 sity of Indonesia in Jambi (UIN Jamb). PhD and MA students from the two un
 iversities worked together as part of a Collaborative Online International
  Learning (COIL) experience organized by the Global Studies in the Arts an
 d Humanities Program (MSU) in partnership with the International Office (U
 IN Jambi).\n\nGlobal Studies in the Arts and Humanities at MSU organized P
 alm Oil Pitfalls in collaboration with the International Center at the Nat
 ional Islamic University Sulthan Thaha Saifuddin Jambi (Indonesia) and wit
 h the support of the Muslim Studies Program and the Asian Studies Center a
 t MSU.
