Paper Bag Puppets

Our Lady of Refuge School in Orchard Lake, Michigan
Fifth Grade -- Carol Balash, Teacher

As a culminating activity for our Life Science Unit, students selected an animal of their choice, designed a paper bag puppet of that animal and presented an oral report revealing pertinent facts which they discovered from their research. The following photographs represent a sample of the artwork.

The Youth Art Gallery provides young visitors to the museum an opportunity to explore, study and ultimately express the natural and cultural diversity of the world through drawings, paintings, collages, photography, and three-dimensional crafts. Artwork displayed will reflect museum themes and exhibits. Participating school groups may create art projects before, during, or after visits to the museum, and the gallery display will change monthly to showcase new projects.

This exhibit was installed in the Youth Art Gallery April-May 2008. Check the Youth Art Gallery for more special exhibits and expressions.
