SciCurious Sparks a Love for Science on Valentine’s Day

The MSU Museum invites the community to SciCurious, an interactive science-themed event that brings Michigan State University’s research collections to life on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the MSU Museum (409 W. Taking place on Valentine’s Day, SciCurious offers a playful invitation to fall in love with science by celebrating curiosity, discovery, and the passion that drives research at MSU.

Illustrations of science collections fill the space, overlapping in different colors. Left, a large black and white butterfly. Across the top, two pink beetles. On the right, a stegosaurus skeleton. Text in two black boxes reads “SciCurious: Fall in Love with Science”This free event showcases scientific expertise and collections from across the university and offers hands-on learning experiences for all ages. Whether attending with a partner, friends, family, or on your own, visitors are encouraged to explore the wonder of the natural world and discover what makes science so captivating.

The event will feature opportunities to engage with MSU students, faculty, and staff as they share insights from scientific research and collections that are not usually on display. Attendees can participate in interactive activities, talk with researchers across disciplines, and explore curiosities that spark fascination and delight.

“SciCurious brings science collections out into the hands of the community,” said Abbie Stevens, Program Manager at the MSU Museum. “On Valentine’s Day especially, it’s a chance for visitors to connect with the passion our researchers have for their work and maybe discover something new to love about science.”

As a creative collaboratory, SciCurious reflects the MSU Museum’s purpose as a space where people can openly explore and experiment with ideas across disciplines and interests, and indulge their natural curiosity about the world. The event invites visitors of all ages to spark new conversations, share discoveries, and celebrate curiosity together. Taking place on Valentine’s Day, SciCurious offers a timely reminder that science is driven by curiosity, passion, and human connection. The MSU Museum invites visitors to celebrate the day by discovering new ideas, asking questions, and maybe even falling in love with science.
