RFID Mobile Lab

Are you interested in using Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology for instruction in your MSU classes or other learning environments on campus? The RFID Mobile Lab offers an exciting opportunity for you, your students, and colleagues to have access to RFID technology for instruction and experimentation. RFID uses include asset tracking, inventory management, access control and security, supply chain and logistics, retail and consumer engagement, archive management, access control, person and object tracking, and more. 

What is the RFID Mobile Lab? 

The RFID Mobile Lab offers self-contained lab kits featuring Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, instructional and demo materials, and activity options to help learners get the most out of the experience. The mobile lab is designed for hands-on, active learning. The Lab provides a unique opportunity to get hands-on experience with RFID technology and explore the system right in your own space.

What’s included in RFID Mobile Lab? 

The RFID Mobile Lab is an exceptional resource for anyone eager to experiment with commonly used RFID equipment, including: 

  • Handheld scanners 
  • Zebra RFD40 Premium Plus UHF scanner with mobile kit (1) 
  • Brady HH85 Reader – UHF, NFC, Barcode (1) 
  • Fixed scanners 
  • Vulcan RFID™ Race Timing Antenna Kit (2) and Zebra FX-7500 scanner (1) 
  • USB RFID reader, Raspberry Pi, and 13.3” monitor (1) 
  • RFID tags 
  • RFID Tag Sample Pack – UHF passive 
  • Confidex RFID tag sample kit 
  • Imping UHF RAIN RFID sample pack 
  • Laundry tracking sample pack 
  • HID RFID tag sample kit

How do I borrow the RFID Mobile Lab? 

MSU faculty members, instructional staff, or unit representatives can borrow the mobile lab for courses or other MSU learning experiences.
