Researchers and students from across Michigan State University are coming together at the MSU Museum to celebrate science at the 20th annual Darwin Discovery Day on Saturday, February 10 from 10:00am – 3:00pm.
Hands-on activities, tours, and special collections will take over all floors of the MSU Museum including behind-the-scenes tours of research collections. Visitors are also invited to bring in a rock or fossil for identification. Natural science curators, faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students from across MSU will be on hand to share their expertise and enthusiasm with inquiring minds of all ages.
Darwin Discovery Day organizer and associate professor emeritus in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, Danita Brandt said, “The face-to-face interactions between our visitors and our team of student and faculty volunteers have always been the most rewarding aspect of this event and we are thrilled to be back with our slate of hands-on activities in our 20th year celebration.”
In addition to the celebration of science at the MSU Museum, visit the Abrams Planetarium for a free screening of Natural Selection a film about Charles Darwin at 10:00am on Saturday, February 10.
