The Michigan State University Museum (MSU Museum) is excited to announce a new lineup of First Fridays programs designed specifically for college students. These engaging and interactive events are set to take place on the first Friday of each month, starting in September, and promise an unforgettable experience filled with mystery, celebrations, food, games, and more, all while featuring rotating locations due to ongoing renovations at the MSU Museum building.
The series debuts on Friday, September 6th, with “A Midsummer Night’s Silent Disco” at the Beal Botanical Garden. Attendees can expect an evening filled with magical music, dancing in the Garden, and an inviting atmosphere perfect for welcoming the new school year. Students are encouraged to bring friends, coworkers, or simply come solo to enjoy a night brimming with fun, food, and vibrant energy.
“Each First Friday is a unique opportunity for students to catalyze creativity and connect with peers while engaging with the MSU Museum in a new way during the building renovation,” stated Brittany Carter, MSU Museum Program Coordinator
The excitement doesn’t end in September. In October, the MSU Museum will host “Mystery Night” at Brody Hall, inviting students to don their detective hats and tackle thrilling puzzles and mysteries. November’s event promises a “spooktacular” night of ghoulish fun at 311 Abbot in Downtown East Lansing, where costumes are highly encouraged. As the series continues into the new year, January will feature a lively game night, where students can test their gaming skills, challenge friends, and enjoy free refreshments.
All First Fridays events will be held from 7:00 – 9:00 PM. While admission is free, tickets are limited, so be sure to reserve your spot in advance for these unforgettable nights of exploration and entertainment.
The First Fridays program is generously sponsored by the Michigan State University Federal Credit Union (MSUFCU), enabling the MSU Museum to provide these unique experiences to college students.
