Generations of homecooks share commonalities, as do culinary traditions and experiences. Culture influences cookery, and cookery in turn influences culture. Through cookbooks, global experiences and national identity are gathered, bound, and represented in various ways. The importance of food is sharing it with people; experience a variety of handwritten and printed cookbooks, and see the recipes that document the celebration of life through food. Join the MSU Libraries in partnership with the MSU Museum as we share a sample of the more than 40,000 cookbooks and ephemera from the cookery and foodways collection housed in the Stephen O. Murray and Keelung Hong Special Collections.
